The 'A' Frame

The A frame is the piece on top of the fuselage sticking up in the air like a big finger. There are actually two of them required on the fuselage to support the huge wings. You can see quite clearly in the other pictures where the wings are attached, how important they are to the plane's structure.

In this picture the fuselage has just been moved out of the shop and the A frames are being re attached before the wings are hung on.

The wheel under the pontoon is not part of the aircraft but is simply part of a dolly being used to move the whole thing.
